Design Coaching Policies

The following is a list of policies pertaining to Design Coaching by Shawn Pyle, LLC. Hopefully, these are a list of common sense ideas. I’m a nice guy, so I’m sure we can work out most of our differences, should they arrive.

Expectations

To get the most out of our time together, I want to be upfront about our expectations of each other. I’m sure you have a few and I’d love to know them upfront so I can meet them. If I can’t, I’ll let you know.

Here are my expectations for you.

  • Ask for help if you need it. I want to make you successful, so let me do just that.
  • We’re here to help each other grow and learn, and that’s done best in safe spaces. Do all you can to be a good friend. Who knows, you might make some new ones!
  • Be on time for scheduled meetings. With multiple people in a group, we’ll start on time and I don’t want you to miss a thing.
  • You get out of the process what you put into it. Homework is an important part of the process. Trust the process and it will pay dividends.

Makeup Meetings

If you are unable to make a session or meeting for an extenuating circumstance (e.g. death in the family, car accident, natural disaster), additional times will be coordinated on a case-by-case basis. If you can, please let me know when you cannot attend.

Extenuating circumstances are not heavy traffic and forgetting to do your homework. Missed sessions because your favorite rerun of Friends was on, will not qualify for makeup times.

No, I won't help you move.

In the case of inclement weather or other act of God preventing the meeting to occur, additional dates will likely be added on the same day and time after the regularly scheduled meetings.

Recordings

Recordings may be made for the express purpose of

  • Refreshing my memory about what was said or shared. My memory is...what's the word?
  • Learning from questions or clarifications made. I like to make things better.
  • Recordings may be made to members of the group if the group was missed for extenuating circumstances.
  • These will never be shared outside of the group for any other purpose.

Nondisclosure

Design Coaching is my passion. The work is (mostly) my own and I would like to keep it that way. If you desire to share it in some way, please run it by me first. Again, I’m a nice guy. 😀

Payments

Money communicates value. I believe this is one of the most valuable processes I’ve ever encountered. I also want you to commit to the process. Humans, like me, are likely to commit if they have some “skin in the game”.

  • Payment is expected at the first meeting for group sessions. This can be in cash, Paypal, or Venmo transfer.
  • For one on one meetings, a payment arrangement will be made ahead of time.
  • Hopefully, I’ve given you all the information you need to determine if you want to participate or not. If however, you attend the first meeting and don’t want to attend thereafter, no payment is needed. After the conclusion of the first session, refunds will not be given.
